In an effort to make the most of the gorgeous views visible from the site, the 05 AM Arquitectura team chose to reorient this stunning white house. They didn’t line it up with the rest of the properties but actually rotated it so it sits perpendicular to the hillside. This gives it a better orientation and allows it to take advantage of the outdoors in a rather spectacular way. The house is minimalist and has a white exterior and a flat roof. Design features such as the doors, sliding panels or the wooden deck prevent the house from looking too simple and monotonous by contrasting with its facades.
On a sunny summer day the house blends into the clear sky and almost disappears into the landscapeThe orientation of the house in relation to the site is unusual but also perfectly plannedA series of sliding panels allow the interior spaces to open up towards the gardenThe house embraces the sloping terrain and takes advantage of its topographyThe sloping terrain allows the house to transition from a single floor structure to a two-storey home very seamlesslyThe wooden deck acts as an extension for the interior spaces, a connector between the house and the landscapeThe swimming pool is positioned a few meters away from the house, perpendicular to the buildingThe house was pushed to the South limit of the site which maximizes its viewsthe interior spaces are bright, open and airy and some also have tall ceilingsThe palette of colors and materials is kept simple and pure, with the focus being on the texturesThe staircase which connects these areas is embedded into the design is a very natural and pleasant manner
Internally, this gorgeous house from Barcelona, Spain is very bright and airy. It has a variety of different spaces with different functions, proportions and heights. The roof however remains flat throughout the entire structure. Although it may not seem like it, the interior spaces enjoy a strong connection to the outdoors. At the same time, they get to offer lots of privacy. The large wooden deck acts as a perfect transition space between the indoor and the outdoor.
The kitchen and dining area share an open plan and are directly connected to the outdoorsThe roof extends and forms an overhang, creating a transitional space between the indoor and the outdoorThe kitchen is unusually simple and lacks the usual wall-mounted cabinets and shelvesThe sliding glass doors ensure a smooth and seamless transition between the interior spaces and the deckThe bedroom suites are as simple and pure as the rest of the houseThere’s a great view through the corner of this bedroomAlthough all these spaces are connected, they maintain their privacy and independence

The main division between spaces inside a home is done through solid walls but sometimes that’s not enough to properly organize all the different zones inside a space. That’s where room dividers come in handy. The term is actually quite general and refers to more than just the classic three-panel screens we’re used to seeing…
